This is the 7th running of this trail race series. These trail runs are on the Willis River Trail in Cumberland, Virginia. The approximate 16 mile trail passes through the Piedmont Hills of Cumberland State Forest and Bear Creek Lake State Park. The runs are 80% trail and they do not have any significant elevation changes but crosses up to a dozen creeks and have numerous short hills. There will be a 7 1/2 hour cut off time for the 50K based on the runners arrival at the 35K aid station in 5 hours. (There will be aid stations about every 5 miles ). The best times for the runs are as follows: 2:58 by Graham Kearney in 2008 and 3:28 by Sophie Speidel for the 35K in 2007; 4:47 by Tyler Van Rensselaer and 4:23 by Beth Patterson for the 50K in 2007.
