Who’s ready to take over New England in their running shoes? No red coats, no muskets, no tea in the harbor; just you and 11 of your closest friends, running across land that was once trampled on by the Founding Fathers. Horses and carriages have been replaced with toned legs and sore feet. Running shorts and running caps are the modern day waistcoats and feathered caps. Forget Yankee Doodle riding into town, this is you, sprinting into town with a sense of accomplishment, excitement, and pride. This is running ’13 Relay’ style! Totaling approximately 175 miles, the Cape Relay is scheduled to take place Saturday and Sunday, May 1 and 2, and will run through some of Massachusetts’ most notable locations. Beginning in Squantum Point Park just outside of Boston and traveling through Quincy, Mass., the birthplace of former Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams as well as John Hancock, Cape Relay will finish in Provincetown at the very tip of Cape Cod in Barnstable County, Mass.
