This is a brief description of my race:

Just an excellent race - we'd all been preparing really well for this race. Mads (http://www.athlinks.com/racer/20951447/MADS-MADSEN.aspx), my brother Martin (http://www.athlinks.com/racer/20951154/MARTIN-THUSGAARD.aspx), and I had had a small training camp earlier that year and especially Martin's fitness was just scary. So I had a couple of ambitions going into the race. One was to finish under 3 hours and the other to try to follow Martin. The first 5-10 kilometers includes a lot of uphill racing where I followed Martin pretty well. On that part I had that iron taste in my mouth that you get when you're working really hard so I was a bit concerned whether I'd be able to keep it up. Eventually I had to let Martin go and just do my own thing, so I was thrilled when I caught up again at about kilometer 85. Now, eventually Martin dropped me on the final kilometers and finished well ahead of me, but I felt like I had done well and finished sub-3 hours, and just had a great race!

This is the gear that I used in this race:
