This is a brief description of my race:

Race conditions were PERFECT for this 10k race in scenic Healdsburg, CA. The temperature was mid 70's with a slight cloud cover. Fitch Mountain starts off with a pretty tough hill and has rolling hills throughout the course, so I was pleased with my time of 48:24 (7:47 pace). My goal was to come in under 50 min...mission accomplished! I raced in my Mizuno Wave Rider 9's which I absolutely love. They're the right combination of motion control and cushioning, since I am a 180 lbs+ runner. The time from my Timex Ironman Triathlon Watch was within one second of my official race start! Funny, the simple things we come to depend on when racing. The race was well attended. The post-race water was a bit far and hidden from the finish, but cold and on ice, so worth the hunt. Not crazy about long sleeve T's for a summer race, but a good looking, fun design. Great early season 10k!
