This was the first just a few months after Katrina hit New Orleans. We decided to go as a show of support, even though it was only a month after the Goofy Challenge. I might have run a decent race anyway, but it was our first trip to New Orleans, and we couldn't resist the lure of Saturday night on Bourbon Street. Arrived at the starting line with a bit of a hang over. Running through the devastated areas was overwhelming. This has become an annual event for us.
