I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: run first- thought I couldn't gone faster, canoed was shallow, alot of carrying the canoe. Rode well until the rain started. finished in t-storm, but lap didn't count.

Saturday, 11/14/2009 — Palmetto, GA
This was a "C" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 1 out of 5.
Race Notes: Distance was actually 3.4 miles, so pace was 9:03/mile. Lots of hills (hence the name "Hill Country"), including an extremely steep hill about 2 miles into the course. The hills sapped a lot out of my quads, factoring into the slow time. I imagine the backwoods, sometimes muddy terrain played a part in that, too, but that part I didn't mind.

Race Notes: I normally hate excuses, but .... My first taste of pes anserine bursitis...and the racecourse was laid out strangely, the pack went left when they should have gone right, doubled back by accident and ran a 3.8 mile 5k!

Ran 7 miles to go pick up my vehicle. Nice way to to get to the repair shop but too much traffic to do on a regular basis. Plus it was a net downhill and driving back was a lot easier than running back!

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: Definitely surprised myself with this PR. Went into the race coming off a hard week of marathon training (CIM), with no taper and tired legs. Didn't really know what to expect, but hoped for at least 6 min pace and a 1:18 or better. Not a target race, but rather a part of CIM buildup.
Started too fast, partly due to the simultaneous start of the 10K and 1/2. The 10Ker's peeled off at about mile 2.5, leaving me virtually solo for the rest of the way. Came through 2 miles in 11:22, stayed at 5:41 pace through 4, slowed to around 6's in the hills and then back down to around 5:40's on the downhill to the finish. The hills killed me, but the relief at the top renewed my hope of nailing a strong race, and I figured I could go sub 1:17 if I could push the last 3 miles hard. Very happy to see a sub-1:16 on the finish clock.....something new to me! Felt fairly well, met my goal of getting in a hard 13.1, and hope this will help with CIM training in the long run.

So, tried running thursday and still having foot issues! Went to Doctor, had Xray that indicated stress fracture, was sent for MRI that did not show stress fracture. Have some issue going on with TMT joint. Still not sure what it is, have not gotten official report back yet! Going to attempt Philly, please God let me finish!
