Volunteer Opportunities at the BAA Half Marathon Sunday, October 11, 2009, 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Boston, MA The race is sold out, but you can still get involved as part of the CRR volunteer crew. Last year the club handled bag check, and hopes to do it again (final assignment subject to change). To volunteer, first register with the BAA--- 1. Go to (Click for the Link ...) 2. Click BAA Half Marathon, Select Volunteer, Click Apply Online 3. Complete/update personal information 4. “If member of a running club, please specify club's name”, type Colonial Road Runners 5. “The capacity in which I am volunteering is:”, click General 6. GROUP STATUS, click JOIN VOLUNTEER GROUP 7. JOIN EXISTING GROUP, select Colonial Road Runners 8. Password/PIN, enter: CRRV09 9. Follow rest of prompts, and print copy of confirmation. Lastly, please let me know once completed so I can keep track of CRR members volunteering (fneely_running@yahoo.com). We'll send more info at end of Sept.

Hi everyone! My boyfriend John and I are new to your group- we have done a couple of the Abington Fun Runs and look forward to meeting you all soon. You seem like a great group of people!

Today, went to the Needham 5 K at 8:45. I got lost, I was coming from Foxboro and the GPS was wrong. I arrived 1 minute before the race. A nice Needham officer told me where to park and jump in and that we run by registration. The would not register me. I wasted a good 3 minutes. I ran the entire 5k + and figured with the thought that the race practice was good! I got to the end and it was 41:49, not bad considering the poor beginning, heat, and the fealing of defeat. I helped cleanup up the finish line for the parade, gave them an extra $10 for the entrance fee. I am now official, time isn't exact, but I am fine with that. Yeah!!!!!! It was a good thing! I did it. It is coming more natural to me. I am now working on track work out with Rich and my Tuesday nights with my hero Betsy!!!!!!
