34th Annual Palace Saloon 5K
- The morning of 12 April 2008 saw the running of the biggest Palace Saloon 5K in years, with almost 800 finishers. It was also one of the fastest Palace Saloon 5K runs in years, with Nick Sunseri running 15:40, the fastest winning time since 2000. Just a few seconds back at 15:45, runner-up Chris Lake also cracked 16:00. In the women's competition, Lisa Johnson outkicked Lara Shaw for the title, both clocked at 18:46. With a 16:48, Jay Wallace was the top male master, while Julie Clark was the female master champion at 21:08.
