Athlete Profile Explained

A. Profile Picture and Options
Members can upload a profile picture from the Settings Page. You can change the photo at any time. We will automatically resize the image to fit in the space provided, so you do not need to worry about cropping or resizing.

More details for each option can be found at the following links:

B. <Athlete> Mission Statement/Personal Manifesto
You can add a brief statement or signature line to your profile page using the Settings page. Most athletes use the space to post a short mission statement or “why do I …” message. More details about the Settings feature are available here.

C. <Athlete> Friends
On each page load, we show a random list of six of your friends. Additionally, the way that we present the friends icons is unique each visiting athlete. Throughout the site, we use color coding to designate mutual or common relationships between athletes and races.
  • Orange: Direct, common relationship. <Athlete> friend is also my Friend.
  • Yellow: Secondary relationship. <Athlete> friend is in my extended friend network. This generally means that you are in a club together.
More details about the Friends feature are available here.

D. <Athlete> Rivals
On each page load we show a random selection of six of your Rivals who are also members. Keep in mind that by clicking on the Rivals link, you will see the entire list of Rivals – both members and non-members. More details about the Rivals feature are available here.

E. Athlete Name and Vitals
Displays the name, age, hometown, etc. of the current athlete.

F. <Athlete> Latest Activity and Entries (Action Ticker)
Down the middle of the page, we show a snapshot of the latest additions/changes to the current athlete’s profile. New results, personal changes, and new content will all be shown here. It’s a great way to see what your friends (and rivals) have been up to in an easy glance. Note: By adding an athlete as a friend, you will be able to view that athlete’s Action Ticker from your personal options.

G. <Athlete> Message Wall
You can post public messages for the world to see by posting to an athlete’s Message Wall. The athlete will have the option of approving or declining the message before it is made public.
