Run Like The Wind Half Marathon

Although I have been training for the Santa Cruz Half Marathon April 19th, my wife, at the last minute suggested that we attempt this Half Marathon in San Ramon. With limited time to get mentally prepared, we signed up that morning and went for it. Boy, I am glad we did, the course was hilly (at least for me) and the weather was perfect for running - clear low 50's at start. Surprisingly, my stamina was good and I had good energy. My time was slightly greater than my first half marathon, but well under my target which was 2 hours. I think the course as more difficult than my first half marathon and am surprised that my time was only 2 minutes longer. The better news was how my body felt, which was OK as compared to last time, when I was thrashed. The training programs have helped and I feel much more confident for the Santa Cruz half.

Way to go. You're not giving yourself enough credit for all the base miles you've built up. Keep enjoying the half! It's always a great race. Beside, the beer taste better the longer you run! EM
