A wetsuit that is comfortable for biking and running. Even though it really only takes 10-15 seconds to get out of a wetsuit, it would be handy to just leave it on.

The gut-buster tri suit. So everyone (including myself) would look good in lycra.

Smoking hot cheerleaders all the way along the sideline, (i'm talking all 180km of the bike ride, and all 42km of the run!). Na, just joking! But Seriously, something Hi-tech, like in an inbuilt visual display in your goggles, that could show you where the next swim marker is. Would save you having to look up into the distance every now and then to make sure your on course.

A Human Body nutrition / energy / hydration gauge - Mounted on the bars or worn on your wrist, would show just how much fuel one has stored and available to use. Warning signals when stores are running low. Would also show just how hydrated/dehydrated an individual is.

I am all about those smoking hot cheerleaders, but the best invention would have to be:
- tires that never get cuts and punctures from glass
If someone can, I would also love to see:
- smooth roads in new zealand
- beer without the side effects

A GPS enabled bike sensor that would beep when you entered another riders draft zone to let you know the amount of time you have to clear the zone. The unit would also record and transmit drafting infractions to the officials so appropriate penalties could be assessed. Generally the motorcycle crew do a good job but they can only catch a very small percentage of the offenders.

Jay wrote " Beer without side effects"??? it's called water...I like my beer as it is please never wish that. New tri invention, if I tell you my idea will you market it and get tribuys to sell it?...I want an upfront payout and then 1 point per unit sold forever ok? it's a brilliant idea but I can't tell you ha ha
so here are a few thoughts maybe a HRM for swimming but not with a chest strap, maybe somehow it's in the goggles (I think it might already be out there but)...or goggles that NEVER fog for real...it's not really an invention but a thought, why do we as triathletes have to follow uci rules for our bikes, I miss the old days when Zipp made bikes as well as Softride...final "invention" an icon of the sport like a tiger woods to get younger kids and media into the sport...

Given the preoccupation with peeing on the bike, perhaps a specially designed funnel and tubing system to cleanly whisk away excess body fluids ideally into the path of potential drafters.

I think maybe the Gatorade Sport Science Institute is actually working on something like this, but how about a patch that you could apply to your skin to analyze how much sodium you've lost and whether you are properly hydrated? It's totally inventable (is that even a word?) and could save a huge amount of confusion about whether you are drinking too much or not enough.

How about some sort of sensor connected to G.P.S. which would sound off a warning if you were straying off the course. It would have saved the guys in China and others before them.

Oxygen shots. Lets fill up the CO2 cartridge I already carry on my bike in case of a flat with quality oxygen I can take when I need to catch my breath. I used to work in a security office where we did have an oxygen mask and one night shift I tried it instead of my usual cup of coffee and it made me more alert. Consumable oxygen cartridge, why not.

I'd like to see a way to brake without getting out of your aerobars.

GPS device in the race chip that will allow tracking of the athletes online/TV. That will make triathlon interesting to watch. Just admit it...triathlon is a great sport if you participate but it sucks watching it.

What about a cup served at Ironman run feed stations that the water stays in when you take it.
