Columbia Triathlon 2007

Not bad, PR by about 35 seconds. I was a little disappointed as I wanted to shave off 2-3 minutes. Rained before the race, but that did not slow me down. Weather was perfect really. Sun peeked out during the run only. More flat tires than I had seen in past years.

Describe your warmup:
None.
Race Details - Swim:
This is my 3rd time doing this race and all 3 swims have a 10 sec range. I still can't swim straight either
Race Details - T1:
No big issues, lost spare tube coming out of the Transition area
Race Details - Bike:
Rain has stopped, but ground still wet. Excellent bike leg, my best by about 75 seconds. I am more than ready for aerobars now.
Race Details - T2:
A little slow. Race belt broke and I took an extra few seconds to pound some extra gatorade since I didn't drink enough during the bike.
Race Details - Run:
Not great. Heart rate was fine, but legs were not willing to go any faster. Pace was 8:12 vs. 8:01 last year. Hills did not bother me with the exception of the last one. I forgot how long it was.
How did you do in this race?
2 - Worse than I thought
What went well?
Bike.
What do you need to work on?
Transitions, swimming straight, need a stronger run. Need to be careful about experimenting with nutrition as it did not go well for this race.
If available, will you do this race again next year?
Absolutely!
How would you rate the course and overall venue?
Good
How would you rate the Event Director and Staff?
Awesome
