South American Championships Half Marathon

Going into the race I was nursing my right achilles so I wasn't sure what kind of race I could put together. I hadn't run much the 2 weeks leading up to the race and I was worried I had lost some fitness. I started off conservative as we ran the length of Avda. Mcal. Lopez. At the turning around at 6.6 miles I was surprised that I was still feeling okay. The weather was nice and cool, 60ish. Once I made it over the hill at Gen. Santos at 10.5 miles it was smooth running downhill just letting the legs go. Miles 11, 12 and 13 splits 6:22, 6:13, 6:09. Strong finish. All and all, I was quite happy with how everything went. 1:28:40
