PERFECT! There is nothing else to describe this marathon. I had a GREAT day! It started early as Doug has to get up extra early to get the early marathon starters to the starting line. I didn't get up then, but was up. I got up, got ready and met everyone downstairs around 5:45 am to walk to the start line. It was a nice morning, great weather all the way through the course, a nice breeze and sunny. This is a BEAUTIFUL course. Out of all the TNT events I've done-this probably ranks number 1. And I've done several! It was amazing! The Golden Gate Bridge, the parks, the beautiful neighborhoods, the ocean. What else? Oh should I mention the Tiffany necklace that I received at the end? It's beautiful. I had a great race. I ran with Victoria that works at The Society. This was her first marathon. I think she had a good time. I do have to say around mile 19-23 kinda stunk as we had to run around Lake Merced. Mind you it was BEAUTIFUL (yes I like that word today) but we were so ready to be done. We wanted to get back to the ocean and The Great Highway. What made it nice is after the lake, they had a Ghiradelli Chocolate stop. Mmm... I'll be doing this one again! |
