WDYDT for Friday, August 15, 2008
Couldn't get motivated this morning. Finally got off the couch at 8:30am for my 12 mile run. Actually felt pretty good once I got started. Listening to the iPod helped since it was just little ol' me. Finished in well under two hours - which means that my 1/2 marathon time should be about 2 hours on a training run. Hopefully I will be able to maintain that speed after the swim and the bike at the 1/2 Iron.

Did a lower body work out at the gym and started the Gold's Gym Challenge. Did 39 push ups. Couldn't eek out the last one. Hopefully that will be enough to win.

Got stod up by everyone in my training group because the weatherman said the weather would be cold and rainy- like he is ever right! Rode 56 miles on the longhorn 1/2 Iron bike course by myself. Hey at least I burned off Thanksgivings Dinner.

What the he--. Didn't win the push-up contest, but the numbers for the gals seemed a bit skewed. Come to find after the morning, they let the gal's do the push ups on their knees! I was robbed!I could do knee push-ups all day. Well, I'm not going to make a big deal about it, but they better throw me some lame parting gift for the effort. : p

Too it easy at the gym. walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill at 4.0mph and a 6% incline just to warm my legs, did some core. Participated in the Gold's Gym Challenge -Jumped rope for 54 seconds. Pretty lame, but I wasn't tired, I just missed because I can't jump rope. I should kick mad booty tomorrow on the bench press. most gals can't bench press much and I know that I can do at least ten reps of 1/2 my body weight.

Did the Komen Race for the Cure 5k in Austin yesterday. 23:36! Woo-hoo! came in 9th in my age group. Feeling pretty good. Gave the ol' legs a rest today and swam for 45 minutes this morning.

WDYDT for Saturday, April 4, 2009
ran the Zooma 1/2 marathon. Felt totally unprepared as my training had been haphazzard since the since the Austin Marathon and the Zooma course was tougher than Decker, but did manage to eek out a 1:58:41 at 9:04 min miles. Makes me wonder what I coulda done properly trained.

WDYDT for Saturday, August 16, 2008
Got started early for an easy 40 mile ride followed by a 10k. After the miserable brick last weekend I wanted to make sure that it was something external as opposed to my inability. I made sure I stayed hydrated and nourished and had a great run. Next week is the S&T Tri, but I plan on trying a 50 mile ride/10k brick the following week. I really need to start working hills into my run.

WDYDT for Sunday, August 17, 2008
Did my first timed 1.2 mile swim. Felt great. I finished in 45.09 (2:20/m). If that is my race pace I would be satisfied. I drafted off a guy for the first half, but lost him at the turn around buoy, so I just muscled through the rest. It sure was choppy out there. Several times I'd come up for air and get hit in the face by a wave. Need to make sure goggles are on more securely inthe future, too. leaky, leaky.Finished well before my draft buddy! Next time I need to find a faster draft.

Competed in the Jack's Generic Tri (sprint) in New Braunfels TX. Came in 12th in my age group. Disappointed in my ranking but it was freaking hot out there. Overall time 1:25:04 - pretty decent. Over 4 minutes off last year.

WDYDT for Sunday, January 25, 2009
Ran the 3M. Finished in 2:05 which is 3 minutes slower than last year. Hopefully this is because I ran extra miles and was running with a friend who petered out at the end. Kinda bummed still - that's slower than my Decker time and about pace with my RunTex 20 time when I was having all those foot issues. : ( Still shooting for 3:59:59 at the Austin Marathon.

WDYDT for Sunday, June 28, 2009
Ran about 9 miles this morning. Took the dog out for three (his max in this heat) then went out for another 6 after bringing him home. Dang it is hot. Felt good during most of the race, but started feeling tired during the last two miles, not out of breathe, just tired. Which would indicate that I shoulda brought a gel or something esle to eat. It's all good, it was just an acclimating (to the heat) training run.

Went for a 15 mile run. 10 miles into it I got a new running buddy. A stray dog ran the last five miles with me, home. Lookng for his owner, but if no one claims him it looks like I have a new running buddy.

Holy freaking cow. The gal who won the sit-up competition did 311. 311! Over 200 more than I? I wonder what she looks like. Must have some ripped abs. Oh, I did come in second place with my measlely 103. re-did my push-ups on my knees- 120? That's enough for 1st place, but I do not see how I will ever make up the sit-up gap. Maybe she has no upper body strength and I'll smoke her in the bench press. I can hope.

Ran a 24:58 5k last night, then got home and ran the dog a fast mile (poor boy so wanted to run), then had a night of cat drama and missed my morning workout.

Ran the Turkey trot with my new dog. he did pretty good in the huge crowd on the leash. We did 10 minute miles for 5 miles, with two walk breaks and onelong water break. I'll have to take him out for a time trial to see how fast he can really run. But I didn;t wnat to kill him our first time out. : )

Oh, I did the hanging from a bar competition (the modified pull-ups because most gals doing pull ups resemble a gal hanging from a bar). Only 48 seconds. WEAK!

Had a kick ass upper body workout with my trainer this morning, then headed to the gym to shower and do the sit-up competition. 103 sit ups. Pretty good for me. They say I can re-do the push-ups on my knees tomorrow. Excellent.
