Dude! What a slacker! All plans for a great 2009 slipped away after I sucked it at the PF Chang. I have been a lazy guy since January, but have recently made it back to the gym and set up a personal trainer. I plan to get back into running and actually train with a running group beginning in late September or early October. My goal is the May 16, 2010 Trollinger Marathon in Heillbronn, Germany. There will be benchmark runs along the way with hopeful success.
2007 was my first full year of running. I managed to finish 41 events, despite a lack of training. 2008 was a down year with 7 runs by April and only 2 by the end of the year. Just 4 runs so far in 2009.
I love to travel and incorporate running, which works well with my long-term goal of running in all 50 states.

Hey Mark, Sorry to hear about the WSOT run. Although not related to distance, I had a bad race last year myself. In this particular run (which will remain nameless) the cops were stopping the runners to let cars go through intersections. The timers for the race were AWOL... oh, and they had a kids bike race on the same exact course the runners were on (that's safe for sure!) Needless to say my run time and motivation for doing more races were both bruised after that one. ;)

Read about he Support Our Troops 5K; That doesn't make sense as to why that happened. That's horrible.

I was looking at the different runners featured on the Athlinks homepage and came across your profile. Its so great to see people who decide to give running a try and realize all it has to offer. I just wanted to welcome you to the world of running and congratulate you on your weight loss and improved times so far. The more you run the better it gets. PF Chang marathon didn't feel too bad for the first 9 miles. I haven't run that far since last PF Chang. Nike Kantana has no cushion and by the 9 mile marker I couldn't feel my feet. Ended up walking/jogging the end. Slow, but still best PF Chang finish for me. Missed PR by 5+ minutes. Better shoes and I could have kept going and beat that.

30 minutes weights; 5K on treadmill

4.6 miles on the treadmill. Had to walk some to keep the heart from exploding. Heart rate hit 204. Otherwise felt good...

Went to the gym today. Slow and easy - just 2 miles to get started again (always restaring). Began with a walk, went up to 5 mph until 1 mile, back down to a walk for a few minutes then up to 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5 before back to a 2 minute cool down.
