Tony - Wow, I had no idea! I also work in Building 12. I checked out your profile and it looks like we are rivals from a few races (although your times regularly kick mine in the butt!). I had wanted to do the Valley of the Sun, but I typically don't train that often and I have done even less this year. I need to get with the program and show some consistency. I love research runs and hanging out before and afterward - it's just the running part I don't like! What department are you in? Mark O

Mini Report for P.F. Changs Rock n Roll Marathon 2007: Run-Half Marathon Added a Mini Report.
Sunday, 01/14/2007 — Tempe, AZ
This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: My first big race. I had trained with Team Diabetes, raising over $1200 for diabetes research. The entire atmosphere, the camaraderie of training with a group, the challenge of the run itself, all worth it. My time was better than I had expected. I had an IT band injury a few months prior, which hurt my training. I really had no idea what to expect. I was able to get through it running most of the way. I took 2 very short walking breaks, mostly because my drink mix bottle was awkward to get at and I'm not that graceful :)

Mini Report for Perot Systems High Country Challenge 2006: Run - 10K Added a Mini Report.
Sunday, 09/17/2006 — Flagstaff, AZ
This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 3 out of 5.
Race Notes: This was my first ever competitive run, since high school track. It is also one of the tougher runs in the state. I didn't know that a trail run meant you go up and down a small mountain. Also, the altitude in Flag at 7000ft was a killer. Glad I did it though, was a great challenge. It also made my subsequent training runs seem like a breeze.
