I am a lifelong running-boom runner, starting at age 14 in 1977. Ran XC and track through high school. Ran my first marathon as a sophomore in HS. Was XC and track captain. Ran college XC & track as a solid third-stringer, but ran a lot of road races with great success. Ran 2:41 marathon senior year, 1980. Continued to race after college, notching many individual awards in road and XC, ran a second 2:41 marathon. I coached HS XC & track for a few years. In 1985-1995 competed in triathlon and duathlon with many individual & age group awards. 1995-present I continue to train and race XC and road races. My marathon count is 16. I was president of my running club 2006-2008. I am looking forward to completing both an ultra-length trail race and to return to multisport racing in 2010. O, and I run 20-50% of my weekly mileage barefoot.
