Hi Adama - I hope that you feel better. It is tough enough for me to run in general, let along if I were feeling bad. I thought the run was a little tough mainly because it was warmer than I expected. Last weekend I was in New England running in low/mid 60's in the morning and here it is 30 degrees difference. The thing that sucked for me was I was actually doing well. Even the first half I was comfortable with, then I don't know what happened. My body actually felt good in terms of legs and no cramps - just tough to breath. My cardiovascular is weak, which comes from not working out much in between.
Good luck with the move overseas. I will probably see you at that run too. I was planning on doing it, although I am not sure how to register. I have seen it on active, but that is to sign up for a membership. I actually signed up a few months ago for a 2 year membership. I see that it is free for me, but I don't know if I just register when I get there or what. I bought my own ChampionChip through them so I wanted to preregister. If you have your own chip your bib is orange or yellow, so I wanted to a least feel cool. :-) I know what you mean about the membership. I bought the 2 year and next fall I will probably move too. I was in New England last weekend because my roommate wants to move there. We are looking probably next September. I am going back on 9/21 for 2 weeks. I am doing 3 runs including my first half marathon. Ugh! I know we are going back the week of Christmas-New Years, again in February and she was talking today about Memorial Day. I tell you what - I might be able to run better there with the cooler weather than I can here with the summers!
I was behind you a few people this morning and I thought i would try my best to keep up, but like I said soon after it started I already lost you. There is a guy named Pat on my page. I see him frequently and ran into him today. He finished up, looked tired and said he was going back out for 5 miles. He is trying to prepare for the full marathon on PF Chang. The only other person I saw was Sue Smith. She is and older lady - 60's I think. Anyway, I usually try to beat her. It is always bad that all of my rivals are 60's - 70's. I have to get running so that when it cools down and Jack Frandsen and his dog come back out I can take them. That's my main rival. Not so much Jack, but Oliver the dog. I have only beat him once and that was the Pat Tillman. I think it is only because there were so many people he couldn't get Oliver in and out of traffic as easily as if he ran alone. A win is a win - I'll take it!
Feel better and don't push it too hard!
Mark
