This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: I came into this race the best shape I have ever been in during any fall (x-country season). This was my first year out of school, but was still training with York as alumni under Mario Iozzo and in recent weeks felt like I was running on air, beating most people in intervals and feeling very confident. Most early season results were ok but a bit disapointing, although they were run on x-country course which are slower than the road. I did have my best ever x-country race at the Mustang Open in London, running 21:26 for 6K. At the time this was the race of my life. This was my first time under 36 minutes for 10K, a chip time of 35:52. I even had a shot at my life time goal of breaking 35 at this race, as I was hitting 3:30 per km dead on through 5k, was 21:04 at 6K, before falling off the pace. A sprint at the end and encouragement from my friend Asaf Rashid in the last 100m ("just when you think it can't hurt anymore you got to make it hurt even more!") kept me under 36 minutes at 35:52. I beat a couple of my York buddies by a big margin at this race, got 3rd in my age and got a sweet dry blue long sleeve shirt. The only downside to race is there might have been more downhill then uphill to this race to aid my time.
