Mini Report for The Beaver Triathlon (Middle Distance) 2009: Olympic International Triathlon- Swim 1900M, Bike 80K, Run 20K Added a Mini Report.
Saturday, 05/23/2009 — Belvoir castle, LEI
This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 3 out of 5.
Race Notes: Started out with a pretty shallow swim. The water was full of silt - which some didn't like - but which just added to the drama. Had a solid swim, but faded a bit towards the ned as i pushed out hard. The bike is an absolute beast. Hilly, windy, chipped road surface and hard hard hard! I should have held back more as, just like the swim , I faded at the end of the bike. It was also hot - and I should have taken more fluids, ho-hum. The run is the final sting in the tail. Three times over the top of a castle at the top of a massive hill. The first time you hate it , the second time cry , the third time you walk!
Great race in the heart of England.

Mini Report for Lisboa Triathlon International 2009: Half-Iron Triathlon- 1.9K Swim, 90K Cycle, 21.1K Run Added a Mini Report.
Saturday, 04/25/2009 — Lisboa, LIS
This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: What a great race! Didn't sleep well the night before as there was a columbian gu in my dorm at the youth hostel who was a truly impressive snorer. I had a good swim. No chop in the water and lots of feet to follow. Onto the bike and the wind really kicked in. Three * out and back on big, well surfaced, roads. pushed pretty hard (purhaps too hard?) and flew out onto the run. The run was flat and HOT. faded a bit towards the end but had a great race.

This was a "C" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: I had a great race. Really good fun - and well run. First time they have held the race and it didn't show. Had an ok swim. a solid bike the blasted the run. Annoyingly just missed out on first place, but beaten by a good guy. All this and home in time for lunch - it can't be bad!
