Well, the sinus crud came back and kinda worked into my lungs at the end of March -- did not feel much like running until Wed? I think. But I was determined to recover before Seal Beach 5K on April 5th. So I did isometrics and squats at work and tried to clear my lungs out with a few sprints. Must've worked because I was ready to go Sat. and ran a truly decent 26:12, which is my 2nd fastest (by 14 secs) since I hurt my hip! It helped that course was totally flat...Running another self-timed 5K this weekend to verify improvement, but next "real" race isn't until May 26th. So I have some time to get ready.Hope your cold clears up, Alicia. Sucks to be sick!O

EXCELLENT! I think we spoke once before about great times in rainy
weather...I wound up not running at all, thanks to some cold cold
drizzle here. But I'm committed to the Los Alamitos 5K on the 23rd!

Hit debris on freeway on way to Long Beach Marathon: little (4-inch) smack mark on grill, dented & leaked radiator behind! No way to go the 37 miles in time for start. Towed car. Licked wounds. Dollar loss will be lingering pain (at least couple hundred $).

I put in my second-to-last run before Boston today (6 miles easy). Can't say this is my greatest ever run-up to a race ... my training was less than adequate and I'm just trying to make it through despite tendonitis in my foot (related to my broken toe issue). But the event promises to be exciting. On Monday, I'll be happy just to say I'm a Boston finisher, God willing!

As it's nearly 2 weeks since I broke my toe, I 'm finishing up week 2 of my water-running plan. Today I did 5 min warmup, 6x5:00 hard with 1:00 recoveries, then 5 min cooldown. Total 45 min of pool running. Only 44 days until I can run again.
