Heard you swim with Ogo Pogos?

U ironman!

Jim,Coeur d'Alene was a great race.  It was my only ironman, so nothing else to compare it to.  I have friends that have done it multiple times and love it though.  I guess they changed the bike course since I did it, but I know people said it was mostly a flat course...which is fairly true, but it wasn't emphasized that there were definitely hills.  Thank goodness that I trained for them.  I heard others that weren't so happy about that.  Other advice: stay in a hotel that has an elevator...stairs the next day don't feel so good.  They recommended that I take an i.v. afterwards, but hating needles, I declined.  My recovery would have been so much better if I had taken it.  Other than that, the volunteers are awesome.  One gave me her sunglasses to keep after I forgot mine on the swim bike transition and couldn't find them after the bike.  The year I did it it was blazing hot, but they did a good job with the wet sponges and such so that you didn't overheat.  It was a great day!  If you want more recent info (someone that did it the last 2 yrs), you can talk to Dean Sakihama (an athlinks member and a part of my training team). By the way, I trained with Team in Training for it and it was a great experience.  Let me know any specific questions you have.BrittanyO
