Hey Melissa LA was a lot of fun but I was NOT happy with my time. Looking back, my mileage was very low leading up to the race because I had surgery in February. I knew I would be slower but still wanted to do it since I hadn't done LA yet. The weather ended up being very nice which was good. I am going to concentrate on Long Beach and really try to break 4 hours... How was your first Tri? I see you got 2nd in your age group and killed the run. That's outstanding!!! What's next for you?? Hey Melissa! You didn't run Surf City? What is your next race? It looks like I am finally going to get to do the LA Marathon this year. I am excited. I hope your training is going well.

Hey Melissa did you run the Surf City Marathon last 2/1/2009? Well, for me I tried to register on the last day(Saturday) a day before the marathon and I found out that it was SOLD OUT.. Damn, I should know better than that. Anyway definitely next year I will be running the full marathon. Hope you had a good time, for sure it was a sub 4 hours right? Looking forward to hear from you. Ciao, Romeo : h)

Maybe I should try that :) I did IMAZ this last Sunday. It was nothing short of amazing! I finished in what turned out to be very brutal conditions. About 17% of the field did not finish. That's the 3rd highest DNF rate in Ironman history so I was happy that I stayed smart, put my pride aside and stuck to my plan of finishing with a smile on my face. My final time was 16:21:12. It was very hot and windy, I got a flat and I had major stomach issues. But like I said it was amazing and a lot of fun. The volunteers and spectators were incredible. Now, I am looking forward to focusing a little more on running and ultras. I am doing Point Magu (Sycamore Canyon) 50K on May 18th and then Mt. Disappointment 50 miler on Aug. 9th. Well, that's the plan anyway. I will also do a couple more short course triathlons to finish out this season. What about you? Are you still thinking about triathlon? You really should. It is a blast. Don't worry about the swim, you can do it.. What races do you have coming up?? Again congratulations on the great PR! Paul
