Saturday, 10/24/2009 — Clermont, FL
This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: Well - first Ironman - - goal was 1:30, 6:00, 4:00 for a sub 12:00 - went 1:26, 5:59:57, and then had to walk from mile 6 to 14 due to severe cramping and finished up at 5:11 on the marathon. Went up to 86 degrees and of course it is Clermont so it is a VERY hilly course - 3rd place was an 11:05.

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: this was a big one as I have been training hard for Clermont - Great Swim obviously - but it was probably 1/2 knot downstream, but I was top 50% for the first time. 21.6 MPH on the bike, and 7:55 on the run - PR obviously. Without the swim advantage, probably still would have been 5:05-5:10 and a PR. It did get pretty warm by the end - into the 80s, but not as hot as Florida! Special since we stayed at my sisters house in Augusta!

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: 15K PR in 62:59 - and I was not all out since I had the 5K later and the 1/2 marathon the next day as well - which did not go so good!

Saturday, 08/01/2009 — St. Petersburg, FL
This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 3 out of 5.
Race Notes: We did okay - all a little less than we thought - Laura swam, I bike - 10 miles at 23.3 MPH per my GPS, and Dave did the run - - very hot day - 13th overall - so 12 individuals beat us - but we won the relay at least by a bit!

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: well - my first Boston - although it was the year of the Great Noreast'er - I was in great shape and ran with my buddy Tom for 23 miles until he released me - awesome experience even in all the rain and wind - pretty good time too!

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 3 out of 5.
Race Notes: Well - this was my 2nd half IM (and first branded one); was hoping to improve on my Miami time of 5:14, but it was pretty rough out there on the run. I panicked a bit on the swim and consider that a pretty terrible swim; was pretty happy with my bike - which was the same time as Miami on a hillier course (and first race with aero clipons) and then the run - ouch - 11 minutes slower - just had to get 'er done at about 8:30 over grass and high humidity - but everyone was suffering!

Sunday, 04/26/2009 — St Petersburg, FL
This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: Got to be happy here as well. 22.4 MPH on the bike, and 7:02 pace on the run. Both a little better than expected. No swim, so I finished #4 out of #102 in the Clydesdale age 40-49!

Monday, 04/20/2009 — Boston, MA
This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: got to be happy with this. 2nd fastest of 13 marathons. Was trying for 2-3 minutes faster, but quads were shot by mile 21 and could not come in very strong. Just under a 4 minute positive split - not bad for Boston!

Race Notes: 15K lifetime PR - pretty good considering I held back a bit for the 5K (which is not posted online in athlinks) and the 1/2 marathon the next day - Bud Light Challenge

I rated my performance a 3 out of 5.
Race Notes: 2.5 minutes slower than my 1/2 time on the Bud Light Challenge from 2 years ago - - pushed a little hard the day before and it was humid!!
