I did my 9 races to qualify last year and I am doing them again this year. I really like racing and wish I could have done more this year but they didn't work with my travel and training schedule.

Mini Report for ING New York City Marathon 2009: Run*Marathon Added a Mini Report.

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: First time under 3 hours in the marathon. I didn't feel weak at any point during the race which makes me think, "why wasn't I faster than 2:58?" I didn't do any speed in my training, it was all strength and endurance training. Next time, longer long runs and at least one speed workout a week. I really can't be disappointed with this result though. 909th place in the largest marathon field in history.

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 2 out of 5.
Race Notes: My two month long knee and groin injury really hampered my training. Started from ground zero in February and rushed my long runs, maintenance runs only reached 4-5 miles max. Unsurprisingly I hit the wall around 15 miles in and basically walked it in. Amping up the training to get under 3 hrs for New York. Just don't get hurt!

~4 miles of running.
Start: 10th Avenue & 15th Street
Loop: Ran S to Chambers St and turn around.
Extra: 10 pushups, 20 situps.
Comments: Post Boston Marathon training finally begins. I let myself go after the race. Feeling very sore from the run, kickball the day before and moving to a new apartment. Still deciding what Marathon I should take part in next.
Lunch- Pasta & Meatballs. Dinner- Chicken w/ mushrooms, green beans and rice. Dessert: Ben & Jerry's frozen yogurt. 2 Leffe beers
