I started running in 1985 as a Sophomore in High School. I thought I was a sprinter - but turned out to be a middle distance runner, winning the Eastern Connecticut Conference indoor 800 meters in 1987. In college I moved up to the 1500, but never seriously challenged.
After taking a few years off, I began to run competitively again in 2004, beginning with an attempt at 6:00 mile on the anniversary of the 4:00 mile. I made it, and now I just want to get better. I love the thrill of racing.
