I began running in Jr HS, 1978. Ran Track & Field, Frosh - Sr yrs, and Cross Country, only Sr yr, for Schaumburg HS(1st place state team). Ran on full scholarship at Loyola University Chicago, 1983-1987. Two time U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier. 27th place 1996 (2:41), 6th place 2000, 2:38:41. Marathon PR 2:37. Encouraged a running family - brother's Steve, Dave & Scott & sister Julie. Brother John's 1st 5K - 18:15, sidelined w/ bummer achilles. Sister Amy not interested. Parents, Mary & Dick, are ALWAYS traveling to watch us compete. They flew down entire family, 6 siblings, to Columbia, SC both times I ran in the US Olympic Marathon Trials "Ann's Army". Husband Dan very supportive of running and I have 2 beautiful children - Madelyn and Brian!
