Tom Schiessl is a MemberTom Schiessl

Age: 45 Gender: Male Genesee, Wisconsin, USA
I run 9-10 races a year, many of them with my teenage daughter. I enjoy the competition and the motivation racing gives me to keep running. I also lift weights 3 times a week to supplement my running as well as to keep me from getting frail as I get older.
I do run with a group once a week and really get a kick out of the social aspect of it.

Sounds like the whole family had a good day!!! Oshkosh went well. I ran a solid 1:20 (13th out of 1129) and if I could have stuck with my 5:50 pace past mile 9 I guess I would have been a little more excites. I blame it on being at the tail end of a 75 mile week. I think I am going to try to run the Bear Trax 20k on Sunday in Delafield. They have a 5k that starts at 10am as well, should be a nice family event. O’ya, what is your current millage, and are you doing any sort of speed workouts?

Happy Easter, I was actually 15sec/mile faster then what I was shooting for. I planned on running 6:30 miles because anything faster screws up my training mileage. It was really windy and the temp at the start was hovering around 35ish, so overall, I am very happy with my time and was very glad when I crossed the finish line and could go inside and warm up. Let me know when you guys are going to run hills, I have the Oshkosh ½ on Saturday, and the Trail Breaker ½ two weeks from today so I am hoping I will be able to join you guys in two weeks. I really enjoyed running in the morning, and as the weather gets nicer, I think it will be even more enjoyable. Have a wonderful week, and I think I noticed someone parking a new car in your garage!!!

Tom, how is the running going? Do you have any upcoming races planed? I've been out of town the last few weekends and am going to run the Striders 1/2 marathon Saturday, and the Oshkosh 1/2 next week. So, it looks like I will be missing you guys again this week.

Thanks for the invitation, it was nice to get out and run with a new group. I’m planning on running 21 miles on Friday to see if I can reach my glycogen deficiency level. So, if I can get out of bed on Saturday, I will be there!

Hey Tom, Thanks for the invitation and I am going to try to make it this weekend if the family life allows. I don’t really worry about speed on Saturdays, just so I get out and put the millage in. It will be nice to have a social run from time to time to get through the next few months!

Log Cabin 5K was great! Lots of rain, thunder, lightning.
The rivers of water on the hills were a blast to splash thru.
Like a kid again. 4th in age group.
