(What did you do today?)
Ran my first half marathon and was quite pleased with my results despite the uphill climb. took me all of 3 hours to complete, but someone mentioned at the very beginning of the race, to tack on 30-45 minutes to your regular half marathon time (because of the hills) now i am fasting for ten days and immediately afterward will begin training for the marathon. so excited! and extremely proud of myself. but i can do more, i can be faster, and stronger. sunday's marathon was just the beginning.

They are great! No blisters on my toes!

Oh geez! Turns out I had the date of my half-marathon wrong -it's tomorrow morning, in Prescott, Arizona. And I am mentally and physically prepared. Should take about 2 and a half hours to complete, not too bad. And immediately following the race, I'll begin preparing for my ten day fast. I'll keep Kenny's advice in mind, "Take your time, Tasha." Can not believe the day is finally here. I have worked extremely hard and have never lost sight of the finish line. PF Chang is next, but first...

Next Sunday I will run my first half-marathon and although i am uber excited -you'd never know. honestly, i have a great deal on my mind, but nothing too major. next friday, i'll go see citizen cope in concert, saturday afternoon, i'll make the drive to prescott and sunday morning, is my race. the tuesday following my race, i'll be fasting again -for personal reasons. 10 days this time, and i would be fabricating if i did not mention that i was looking forward to the fast. YES!

Preparing for the up and coming half marathon and am super stoked. Although it looks like I'll be needing a new pair of running sneakers because all of the hiking in the ones I have now, have wore them OUT. Plus, i am going to need to invest in some great socks because after the 9th mile, i get blisters on my toes. YOW! But other than that, i'm READY. My personal trainer has changed up my workout -so that's great. I am slipping in the area of my diet but hanging in there strong. Team Tasha!

7.25 miles yesterday and i still had another mile in me :0 working with a great -and cute- personal trainer whose helping me achieve the results i want. he even taught me how to run intervals, cool. half-marathon coming up, september 27th and i'm really looking forward to it. and a few weeks after that my and the dale renew our wedding vows. so yes, 2009 has been everything i imagined it would be. kids start school monday and i should be starting school a few weeks afterward. rest/hike tomorrow

i lost the weight and before long, lost the lesson. soon after, I forgot my original goals and replaced them with ones not in the so distant future.

suddenly its not a big deal if I don't gain any muscle in my arms and legs? who is that talking? I want muscles. I've always wanted a very defined and muscular body. that has never changed. just means i have more work that needs to be done. because the goal has never changed; i just got a little lazy, comfortable.

during these last past six weeks, I have completely forgotten and simply overlooked very important things I've learned on my way to living healthier. Maintaining results takes just as much work. A constant and daily recommittment to yourself whenever you fall off the wagon, and a clear set of goals and aspirations to always look back on. So while I am estatic about my weight loss and determination to my family's health --it does not just stop with that.

There is more work to be done.

Soooooo, I'm BACK! Gosh, it seems like it has been so long since I've had an entry. I've started running again....all last week and have been doing a fantastic job. Anywhere from 3/4 miles daily. I've decided to join the Arizona Road Racers with the expectations to become properly trained to run. I also expect to learn how to increase my speed. I'm really excited about the prospects. I haven't run a race in almost a month and look forward to getting back out there and clocking my time.

Friday I'm driving up to Cottonwood, Arizona for a 10K race. Please don't ask me how I'm going to do because I do not know. At the moment, I am fasting. If need be, I'll end up walking.
