This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: The race started later than my usual training runs, and I struggled with what to eat before the race. I started having stomach cramps about 8 miles into the race, they never subsided. I was with the 3:20 pace group through the half marathon mark, approximately, but the stomach cramps were causing me trouble. I tried slowing my pace and walking through water stops to try to stretch my abdomen, but it didn't help. I walked mile 22 or 23. The 3:30 pace group passed. Then the 3:40 group approached, but I wasn't going to let them get away from me. I did qualify for Boston! However, I know I can run a better marathon. My training indicates that 3:30 would be easily within reach. The combination with eating improperly and going out to fast prevented that. Next time...
