I go by Dougie but the cool kids call me doogle! I was Born and raised in Cleveland OH. Moved to Florida when i was 15-16 years old. In March of 08 I started to work out since i was a little over weight and found a passion for cycling. I now am addicted to triathlons and continuously try to better myself so i can do a half-iron and eventually a full iron.

Yea I hear ya man, I like how you can keep up with the time for your events! I bought a new bike this past week; Specialized Transition Expert, it's SWEET, it should be coming in the mail this week! Any other triathlons coming up for ya bro?

I totally agree with you on the timing and the price. I like that the Miami one is a lake swim instead of an open water swim, since it's 1.2 miles. I also like that the Miami one is a run through the zoo. My concern for the Miami one is that if you look at the program for last year, there is a time limit and they close off events. It's like 7 hours, 30 minutes total. I would think I could complete it in that time, but I don't know because I've never tried.

This is the race I want to do! The run goes through the Miami Metro Zoo! You can run with animals! Check it out and let me know. If we do this one, I won't do Amelia Island. Plus, we have more time to get ready for this one. (Click for the Link ...)

Okay, I'm in but I'm not committing to the Half Iron distance yet. I'll at least do the Olympic distance, though. I need a new training plan. I have an awesome book now but it only has sprint and olympic distance in it. I need an iron distance but one that literally spells out each workout. I want someone to tell me exactly what intervals to do at each workout. That's how my plan is now.

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 2 out of 5.
Race Notes: this was my final tune up before my half iron... didnt go to well... swim was short, flatted at mile 9 but crushed the run with a 45min flat 10K ... was ok but could have been better

did longleaf tri yesterday ... flatted at mile 9.5 on the olympic course.... so i went and bought a new Fuji D-6 it'll be here on weds. hahahaha still a good time yesterday tho for riding a flat for 14 miles

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: Great fun race! I had went out the night before and was only one about 5 hours of sleep after working all day for this event but still did well. the swim was fast and smooth, T1 was real fast, bike was avg. not spectacular but good, T2 was very good, and the run was kinda slow but for me its about avg. This was more of a final tune up for my race in CLE and to get the penalty out of my head. and just really focus on being smooth throughout the race... very happy with my sub-hour finish!

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: Worked very hard for this race and am very happy with myself here! I have a great family and great supportive group that make this happen! The weather was crappy with very over cast cloudy conditions with even some misty type rain, the water in the swim was very merkey and dark and cold, i wore my wetsuit for this race, with my tinted goggles and weather conditions i didn't have the time i was hoping for in my swim, i was off course a couple times as i swam toward kayaks instead of buoys, but i did ok, T1 was ok considering i had to get out of a wetsuit, bike was fun! the hills and wind made it challenging and i enjoyed all 1 hour and 11 minutes of it, T2 was lightning quick, Run was good for me avg. pace was a hair over 8 so im very pleased. The run went past some of my memories of Cleveland such as the browns stadium, and rock and roll hall of fame. My brother even came out to see me and i think i even impressed him a little as well. So stoked on this race. Now just to improve on this time now!
