This was a "C" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: I wasn't able to train for this race due to injury. Other than the week leading up to the race, the Dunn's Run 5K was my only running in almost 6 weeks, so I was amazed to run so fast in this race. A PR by over 11 minutes!.

This was a "A" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 3 out of 5.
Race Notes: Preparation for this race was interrupted due to injury 6 weeks before, which prevented me running or swimming for several weeks. Then I picked up some patella tendinitis through cycling too much to compensate and this bothered me a little on the bike and also on the run. I was told that the swim would not be wetsuit-legal, so did not take my wetsuit to the event, only to find the temperature was 77.9 on race morning. This probably contributed to a slow swim, particularly compared to most others who used a wetsuit. The bike was really windy. I was pleased with my time, although it might have been 10 minutes quicker without the wind. I didn't have much zip in my legs for the run and also my knee bothered me, so I ran conservatively to make sure that I finished my first 1/2 ironman. Without the three problems (injury, wetsuit and wind), I feel that I could have easily beaten 6 hrs and probably been closer to 5:45. Realistically, 5:45 would be about my limit at this point.

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 5 out of 5.
Race Notes: Probably my best triathlon so far. The swim was a little slower than I expected. The start was rough and I veered off course slightly. After that, everything went smoothly. My bike leg was pretty fast and I was still able to run fast. I overtook a AG rival on the run-in to get 2nd.

This was a "C" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: Ran this race with 8 stitches in calf. Although the first half of the race was faster than the second, I felt like I had a more even pace than usual. The slower last mile was partly due to crossing the Intracoastal bridge and a slight rise just before the finishing stretch. I moved from 9th to 6th around the 1 mile mark and dropped back to 7th as we entered the final half mile.

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: First race on my tri bike! My time included a 2 minute penalty for passing on right. Really bad luck since I had nowhere else to go. This cost me 3rd place in the masters, but I comfortably won 50-54 AG. Wasted 15 secs not being able to clip in at start of bike leg. Other than that, I was surprised and delighted with my performance.

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: After Loggerhead, I thought I could place really well in this race, so I switched from the duathlon and made a concerted effort to put the best triathlon I could muster...and I executed almost perfectly. The only hiccup was having trouble getting my foot out of the bike shoe approaching T2 and having to unclip and run with one shoe on/one shoe off. I was pleased with my swim and T1. I had a scare on the bike when I thought I had a flat (it was a false alarm, but cost me a few seconds). The bike was only 8 miles, but the run was 3.3 miles. This worked to my advantage, because I was able to catch my main rival with 1/3mile to go. Was thrilled with first podium finish in a triathlon and that it was 1st place!

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 2 out of 5.
Race Notes: This race started off well because I had a pretty fast time for 1500m considering my weak swim. It went wrong in T1 when I got confused and didn't follow my nutrition plan. The bike leg included 6 climbs of the Rickenbacker bridge and I tried switching from the big ring to the small ring. The chain didn't catch cleanly and I had trouble on the 2nd climb and on the 5th climb, I stalled and fell off on the 5th climb. I'll give myself credit for jumping on quickly and sprinting up the rest of the climb, but the mistake gave me a bruised hip as well as causing me to expend extra energy. In T2, I tried to make up for nutrition that I missed taking in T1. This was another mistake, because I drank too much, which made it hard to run. As in my first Olympic triathlon, I had to walk some of the run leg due to my upset stomach, plus the pain in my hip was also distracting. My time was a PR by 10 mins, but should have been so much better. The race was much more competitive than Tri-Miami and I was surprised to see how many people were so much faster than me at this distance.

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: I wanted to do well in this race to recover some confidence lost the week before. The swim went well, aided by the current. T1 was little slow because I was behind a few people leaving the beach and had to backtrack to get to my bike. The bike leg seemed super fast, because I overtook loads of people, but the official time wasn't as quick as I hoped. I think I held back a little, knowing it was 13 miles and I almost fell off approaching T2 because I didn't get my feet out of the bike shoes in time. This probably added 10 seconds to the bike time. I was pleased with the run, because for the first time, I was able to pick up some momentum early and keep up a steady pace to the end. I finished ahead of some people that easily beat me the previous week, so recovered my confidence. Overall, my most complete triathlon effort so far.

This was a "B" Race for me.
I rated my performance a 4 out of 5.
Race Notes: My first lake swim took slightly longer than I thought, especially considering that it wasn't a wave start. After that, everything went almost perfectly. Both T1 and T2 were fast. I held back a little on the bike and then ran well, picking up speed in the last half mile and sprinting hard at the end.
