I started getting serious about fitness in my early 50s - signed up with a personal trainer - lost a ton of weight - been going religiously for the past 5 years Since then I've ran half dozen marathons, numerous triathlons, mud runs, half marathons etc. I find that being active can be very addictive and that you are your own best competitor. I always strive to achieve a personal record in every event I undertake - don't always make it, but my mantra is NEVER GIVE UP.
